If you're planning to redesign a home that you just purchased, we recommend that you live in it for at least a few months before making changes. In that way, you'll have a better feel for what works and what doesn't in terms of aesthetics, traffic flow, sunlight patterns, and furniture placement.
Whether you're looking to build a new home or re-create an existing one, this is how we'll work with you:
1) We listen as you explain your house needs and desires as well as your budget. If you have photos, or examples found on-line or clipped from magazines, we'll look at those carefully and incorporate them to the best of our ability in the design of your new home. Part of this phase also includes becomming familiar with your building site.
2) We'll provide you with a basic sketch of the exterior and a preliminary floorplan based upon your ideas and ours.
3) Then, whatever changes you'd like to make, we listen, offer advice, and edit the preliminary plans and present them to you for review. This may take a few visits, as most people think up more ideas as they become involved in the process.
4) Once all details are decided upon, we'll create a full set of working drawings and provide you with the number of copies you'll need to get started in the field.
Please keep in mind that we can build or renovate your home, but we realize that you may opt for a builder with whom you already have a good working relationship.
